WHO ARE THE CLASSES TAUGHT BY?

Our classes are taught by brilliant student teachers who are members of the society. Intermediate and Advanced Ballet  is taught by an externally trained professional teacher.

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS EVERY WEEK?

Classes are different each week, so as much as we'd love you to come along each week, classes don't have to be a big commitment. You could even try different styles each week.

WHAT DIFFICULTY OF CLASS SHOULD I COME TO?

Our beginners classes are designed for people who have either never danced that style before or aren't that confident in that particular style. Advanced is for those who have danced that style confidently for several years. For Tap, we give an exam grade guideline of around 5 and above, and for Advanced Ballet around 6 and above. We recommend in Week 2 you try all difficulties and decide what is best for you.

DO YOU NEED MEMBERSHIP TO ATTEND CLASSES?

Yes. The prices of the timetable is subject to having paid the £10 membership. You can buy the membership in Freshers Fair or online from Week 3 onwards. The first week of classes - Week 2 of term - is the main exception to this when all classes are free to trial whether you are a member or not.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASSES?

We don't mind what you wear to classes as long as it is something you can comfortably dance in - e.g most wear leggings and T-shirts. This goes the same for footwear, it's up to you. But tap shoes are recommended for advanced tap and ballet shoes for ballet (not pointe shoes).

HOW DO LOYALTY CARDS WORK?

We give out loyalty cards in classes and at Freshers Fair when you buy membership. These can be stamped by the teacher each time you attend a class and you can get your 7th class free. If you fill your card, just ask the teacher for a fresh one.
